KFRR-KJYO
This was the final leg of my "stamp run".
This video also captured an airborne activation of a DC ADIZ flight plan to re-enter the ADIZ. You'll hear Bob and I talking about whether we need to hear "transponder observed". While this is not a requirement of the ADIZ, Potomac TRACON has begun issuing this statement as an indication of "all is well". The fact remains it is not required for VFR flight in the DC ADIZ. The requirements remain:
- File a flight plan.
- Transmit a discrete transponder code.
- Maintain two-way communication with air traffic control.
- Exit the ADIZ if the transponder fails. (Note: Recent changes to the rule allows immediate landing if your transponder fails near an airport. Be sure to read the recently issued update.)
