Departing KHEF

Departing Manassas (KHEF) I caught a gust of wind that put me airborne a little prematurely. I compensated by flying a modified soft field takeoff and simply maintained ground effect until reaching the proper airspeed for climbout. I must admit not expecting

Dancing With Clouds

North of Richmond, VA were some scattered cumulus with bases right at our altitude of 7000 feet. Here's the video sped up to 4x normal speed.

Landing at Richmond, VA

Here's my landing at Richmond International ( KRIC ) for the 2006 Crown Royal 400 NASCAR race. Winds were 350@10 and I made a fair touchdown on runway 2. Dale was intriqued by a few choice members of the NASCAR Air Force (namely the Joe Gibbs Racing

Night Departure From Richmond, VA (KRIC)

Here is a night IFR departure from Richmond International ( KRIC ). Winds were still out of the north-northwest at 10, but were smooth. Potomac TRACON was very helpful in giving us a direct routing home. Even though I typically file and get airway clearances

Night Landing at Manassas, VA

Here is my landing back at Manassas to drop off Dale after the race. As usual for night flight, winds were smooth and practically calm on the surface.
