Departing KHEF
Departing Manassas (KHEF) I caught a gust of wind that put me airborne a little prematurely. I compensated by flying a modified soft field takeoff and simply maintained ground effect until reaching the proper airspeed for climbout. I must admit not expecting the sudden boost in takeoff performance...
ATC was helpful in giving us a fairly direct routing to begin with, but we got an even more direct route before reaching the FLUKY intersection.
