"Stamp Run" Defined

I've been asked "what is a 'stamp run'?"  Well, here's the long version...

The Virginia Department of Aviation put together a program called the Virginia Aviation Ambassadors Program. The idea is to go to your local Virginia airport and pick up a "passport" (it's even US State Department blue with gold lettering) that has blocks for all VA airports, aviation museums and the annual EAA fly-in. As you visit each facility, you get your passport stamped and dated. After achieving certain milestones (25, 50 and 67 airports, 4 museums, safety seminars and the fly-in), they send you a gift. The highest level of achievement is a leather jacket - perhaps the most expensive leather jacket I'll ever see.

Anyway, the program is a great excuse to go fly in Virginia. Fly to a new airport, get a stamp and get one step closer to the jacket. Hence "stamp run".
