Deer Strike Repair - Step 3
The folks from Hagerstown Aircraft Services (not to be confused with the avionics guys at Hagerstown Aviation Services) came Friday to disassemble and truck the plane to the shop for a detailed repair estimate. It's interesting to note there are eight bolts connecting the wings to the fuselage.
Thanks to Susan P. for providing the pictures below. The first is shortly after hoisting the plane onto the trailer. You can see the wings and horizontal stabilizer already on the trailer.

This is a shot of the departure from Leesburg. You can see one of the red drums used for the offloaded fuel (this plane holds 79 gallons) as well as the padding used when securing the wings.
I'm sure this rig turns a few heads when it's carrying its loads down the highway.
