Thanksgiving '07 - Part 8 of 8: KRMN-KJYO

This is the final leg of this year's Thanksgiving trek: Stafford, VA (KRMN) to Leesburg, VA (KJYO). The winds were still blowing 16G21 and I definitely was not practicing short field technique this day.

Thanksgiving '07 - Part 7 of 8: 65J-KRMN

After a week of relaxation (well, mostly), it was time to fly home from Wrens, GA (65J) to Leesburg, VA (KJYO). However, we had one stop to make before KJYO: Stafford, VA (KRMN).

Thanksgiving '07 - Part 6 of 8: KMCN-65J

Night flight in IMC from Macon, GA (KMCN) to Wrens, GA (65J).

Thanksgiving '07 - Part 5 of 8: 65J-KMCN

We flew from Wrens, GA (65J) to meet my wife's brother and his wife in Macon, GA (KMCN).

Thanksgiving '07 - Part 4 of 8: 73J-65J

The return flight to Wrens, GA (65J) from Beaufort, SC (73J) was a pleasant one. ATC gave me some strange vectors out of 73J, but they didn't add too much time to the flight.

Thanksgiving '07 - Part 3 of 8: 65J-73J

Part 3 of this year's Thanksgiving flying was from Wrens, GA (65J) to Beaufort, SC (73J) to see a friend's son graduate from Marine basic training at Parris Island.

Thanksgiving '07 - Part 2 of 8: KRDU-KHQU

After a relatively short bio-break (for the two humans and the dog), we continued our flight to Georgia.

Thanksgiving '07 - Part 1 of 8: KJYO-KRDU

This is the first leg of this year's trek to Wrens, GA to visit family for Thanksgiving. No audio due to technical difficulties this trip, but you get to see an IFR departure, climbout through to blue skies on top, then an ILS into Raleigh.

Winter Flight Decision Path

Pop quiz: Planning a flight from Leesburg, VA (KJYO) to Elkin, NC (KZEF) to visit family for the weekend. This is purely a social call. Plan is to leave Friday, November 10 around 6pm and the flight is generally about 2 hours 15 minutes in a Cessna C182. Rain showers are predicted for the early part of the flight. Go or no-go?
