090429 GPS-A KFRR

After a couple approaches into Charlottesville, VA (KCHO), I flew up to Front Royal, VA (KFRR) to drop off the plane for an oil change. The video picks up after I've intercepted the inbound leg a bit outside the CAKOM waypoint.

This approach is interesting in that it keeps you at 3700' to get you across the Blue Ridge, then after you're in the Shenandoah Valley, it drops you nearly 2000' in the space of 5 miles. Sure, the math works out to a 600 ft/min descent with a groundspeed of 90 knots, but it's still one of the more aggressive IAP descents in my home region.

Front Royal does not have an automated weather station, but Winchester (14 miles north) was reporting:
AUTO 13004KT 7SM BKN006 OVC010 10/09 A3043
